Every child has a story. For 2.7 million American children, that story is filled with the abandonment, loneliness and shame that come from having a mom or dad in prison. For many, it may also include following their parents down the same destructive road to incarceration. Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ.*
STRONG has received 20 angels, and will purchase and deliver gifts to those children on behalf of their incarcerated parents. Help us serve and shine the love those parents have for their children, and the love Christ has for all His children. Want to help out? Join us on these dates:
Gifting for an Angel from December 8-15th – Come to the STRONGLife gym, select an angel ornament from the tree, and bring back a wrapped gift for that child by December 15th.
Gift Delivery on Sunday, December 15th from 2-4pm – Deliver gifts to the intended angel children in the Summerville area.
Sign up to be a volunteer at the Run or Dye on December 14th, in Charleston, SC. For every volunteer at the event, $50 will be donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.*
